What If Mario Jumped To The iPhone? →
If Nintendo were to do this, their hardware business would effectively be done.
BUT, the software sales would be beyond massive. How many copies of Mario and Zelda would Nintendo sell on the iPhone? What about the iPad? What about Apple TV?
Nintendo is in the unique position where they could certainly have leverage to strike a special deal with Apple here. The end result could be game-changing.

Nintendo has $13 billion in the bank? Jeez. Maybe they should buy Nokia. Their market cap is $18B. Also, originally I was going to say HTC, thinking they had the smallest market cap of any major headset manufacturer, but theirs is twice that of Nokia now - $35B. Crazy.
Anyway, seems like there are a ton of floundering mobile companies out there. Be kind of awesome of Nintendo bought one of them and made a Nintendo phone. I WOULD SO BUY THAT.
Nintendo games on the iPhone would totally suck. The best iPhone games have a dramatically different interaction than the best nintendo games. They really need something with a controller like the DS. Nintendo games with a phone that has a controller like the playstation phone, if it looked better, might be pretty cool.
